Year 6 Remembrance Day

Year 6 have been learning about Remembrance. The children spoke today about the sacrifice made by soldiers in the world wars and those still defending us today. They were posed the question;

"World War 1 was called the war to end all wars. Why do you think people called it that at the time?"

This opened up a very interesting debate and the children were keen to engage. It opened up some questions about the current wars in Ukraine and Gaza and the children were very respectful.

The children took part in 2 minutes silence at 11 o' clock to remember the fallen and those who suffered.
