Jacob in Year 6 makes it in to Barnsley & District School Boys FA Football squad!

Once again this year, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Stephen Gates in to school, the Chairperson of Barnsley & District Schools FA, to present Jacob in our Year 6, with his red tie.
 
This marked a truly significant achievement for Jacob in his footballing journey.  Mr Gates explained what an important occasion this was for Jacob, as 15 years ago he had presented the same tie to footballer John Stones, who as we know, has gone on to play for big football teams and represents England too in their national team.
 
Jacob is an outstanding footballer, but as he was presented with this tie, Mr Gates spoke about how this honour didn’t mean that Jacob should get a ‘big head’, moreover carry this title with pride and model the exact behaviours which footballers should model: hard work, dedication and above all, have a ‘big heart’.
 
As I watched Jacob be presented with the tie, I know he won’t ever let his squad down as he certainly does have a big heart and is such a hard-working boy.  He is a true Park Streeter through and through!
 
We are so proud of our Park Streeter for making it this far!
 
I also want to express my congratulations to the other children at Park Street who went through the same trial; process as Jacob – your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed!
