Rosa Parks Day (04.02.23) was celebrated in school today, as we shared a collective 'walk to school day'!
In class we celebrated and learnt more about the brave civil rights activist. Her most famous incident was when she refused to give up her seat on a bus she was travelling on. Through school we celebrated by: EYFS - discussed why Rosa is a significant person to know about Y1 /2 – wrote some questions about Rosa Park that they wanted answering Y2/3&3 – completed a hot seating activity Y4/5&5 – researched the “bus boycott” Y6 – researched the answer to the question: “what was segregation?” Thanks to Mr Holmes, Community Cohesion Leader, for organising!
