In maths this week we have started our new unit of money! The children have really enjoyed exploring this unit. We started the week by consolidating our existing knowledge of different coin values and moved into converting from pence to pounds. From this, we proceeded with adding money using concrete and pictorial representations. Next week we will continue our learning around money practically progressing into giving change.
This week in literacy we have been recapping the features of instructions. The children recalled what is required to write a clear set of instructions and had great fun going on a feature hunt around the classroom. We then linked our literacy with our art topic and moved into planning our own set of instructions on how to make a stone age pot. As the children made these without me our roles were reversed and they were teaching me something new! I look forward to beginning our writing next week.
