As David Walliams is our class author and a firm favourite within Team JF, I wanted to share the link to David Walliams elevenses where a free audio book is available each day! I hope you enjoy :) https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/ Good morning Team JF, I hope you are well and enjoying your learning so far! Why not try one of the fluent in 5 maths challenges each morning to start the day.
In preparation for the school closure, please find below information relating to home learning programmes. You will find some details regarding the core subjects (Reading, Writing, Maths) and how these can be accessed each day. In addition to this, you will find some information regarding other curriculum areas as well as a suggested timetable to structure your child's daily learning. These activities have been carefully resourced to ensure that learning can continue as much as possible whilst the school remains closed. Please note that these materials are exactly the same materials as those that will be sent home with the children tomorrow. Should your child require a different year group's learning pack, please see respective blog pages: Year 1 - Team AF Year 2 - Team CT General Information:

Tam JF had a fabulous day developing their knowledge and understanding of the Romans and how the Romans became very powerful rulers through the empire they created. During the day, they had the opportunity following tasks:-
Throughout the whole day, Team JF were OUTSTANDING with their behaviour and they thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the trip, especially when the found out that they were receiving a Roman coin in payment of being part of the Roman Army. Well done all of you, the staff at Murton Park were very complimentary about you all. History This week/last week, year 3 and 4 took part in their history days with the theme of 'flight' and 'Titanic'. Throughout the day the children rotated around different activities, researching key questions, to develop their knowledge of the Wright brothers and the tragic disaster of the Titanic. During the flight day, the children had the privilege of two special guests to discuss their careers and how flight has evolved over time. This gave the children the opportunity to deepen their understanding and ask any burning questions they had! Alongside this, the children finished off their day experiencing what it would be like to fly a real aircraft. Mr Whittaker kindly allowed the children to sit inside a small aircraft he had designed and built which was amazing! The year 4's started the day in style as they set sail on a journey through time to understand what lead to the Titanic Disaster of 1912. Primary and secondary sources were used to support them when considering some key enquiry questions, alongside an excavation. The children gasped in shock as they uncovered some evidence that lead to people believing certain people were more accountable than others for the event. The children also interviewed Millvina Dean who was the youngest person aboard ship to survive. It was a truly wonderful experience! |
