Another BIG well done to our Readers of the Week this week! Keep going Park Streeters - read, read, read!

Over the course of this academic year, the children of Park Street have loved their weekly assembly based on a key figure from the past or present. These have included the likes of Anne Frank, Sir David Attenborough, Rosa Parks, Captain Tom Moore and others just to name a few. Their achievements have been celebrated with the children and students have had the chance to learn more about influential people in our lives.
Recently, we have updated the library area to feature these books that the children have so loved on our "Starbooks" display. Be sure to pop past and see what inspiration you can find amongst these books, like many of our children have too! An amazingly BIG well done to out Readers of the Week this week, which can be found below!. I am always so proud to hand out these rewards for the children. I especially love it when I hear gasps from the children and big rounds of applause to say well done from the other children! Once again we had some very excited children; Thomas in Team CH cheered himself, full of pride! Wonderful to say such enthusiastic readers!
We would like to offer the biggest well done and pat on the back to our wonderful Year 6 staff and students who have worked tirelessly this last week for their SATS. It was plain to see just how hard our children have worked all year to make fantastic progress and aim high this week. I am certain that they will have done an absolutely phenomenal job and as a school team we could not be more proud of the fantastic mentality you approached these tests with. Well done!
Another well done to all of our amazing 'Readers of the Week' this week! Keep working hard and aim high Park Streeters!
Our lovely Year 4 children in Mr Davison's class have been enjoying a fantastic trip down to the library this afternoon for their Incredible Me slot. I was fortunate enough to catch the children as they returned to school and they were all buzzing with excitement from it - even Mr Davison couldn't stop talking about how fab it was!
During today's session, the children toured the library learning about different books and how they can be located. They then went on a scavenger hunt to find different books, using a colour system and determine the type of book classification it was. Mr Davison noted that there was then time for a quick wordsearch before the children read a book all about different children liking different books and this being ok. The story was about a boy named Zack who at first was a non-reader but by the end loved to read. The children seemed truly inspired. So much so that during a question and answer session the class almost ran over time being so eager to learn as much as they possibly could! Well done Team JD. It is lovely to hear what a fab time you have all had. Team CB will be down to the library next after a brief break whilst we accomodate SATS next week back in school. Please find our awesome 'Readers of the Week' below! We are so proud and pleased with your progress Park Street! Keep it up!
