Welcome back!

Maths

How has our first week ended already! This week in maths we have continued our learning around multiplication and division. As we are fabulous mathematicians we have been able to use the times tables facts we already know to solve much trickier calculations with numbers 10x as big! As always Team JF have worked really hard to explore and understand this concept and have demonstrated great resilience in working through the problems they were presented with.

What a fantastic start to this term! 


Literacy

Team JF's literacy this week has been really exciting! We have started our unit of adventure stories and have been using the book Supertato to unpick the structure and steal some ideas. We began working in groups to create our own checklist of what make a great adventure story and from this we started exploring these features. After a lot of discussion and many votes, we finally decided the plan for our own stories. We will begin our writing next week, however, I already know they are going to be amazing as the children generated an abundance of impressive ideas.
