Autumn 1 in Team CM

In Nursery, our core book this half term has been Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy. We have loved reading and re-reading this book and we are now really good at joining in with lots of the phrases, especially the rhyming words. In our reading area, we have been learning to turn the pages carefully one at a time, going the right way from front to back. At group time, we have focused on developing our listening skills by tuning into sounds. We have learnt lots of nursery rhymes and have been singing these and playing our musical instruments. These are all essential pre-reading skills which will really help us when we start to learn letters and blend sounds into words.
