https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ The best solution out there at the moment is White Rose Maths and their home learning section. The videos posted on their website are very useful in explaining the mathematical concepts. It talks the children through what they need to do and then tells them when to pause to have a go at the accompanying activity. It also comes with complete answers for children to self-check or for parents who want to make sure their children are on the right line. This should take a lot of the pressure away from parents as we know that this is also a difficult time for them. If the children can’t print and they are viewing it on their ipad or tablet, they could possibly annotate the sheets on their device and take a screen shot to save. This would be a free way of doing it and who doesn't love a freebie? We are forever sharing learning resources on our Twitter page @WombwellParkSt
Check it out for some fantastic activities that cover all the different curriculum areas. https://twitter.com/WombwellParkSt The Barefoot resources are a great way of tackling the Computing curriculum whilst and home and what's more, their resources are FREE!
https://www.barefootcomputing.org/ Fancy doing a bit of art work with your family? Have a look at the presentations below. The first presentation shows some examples of famous portraits, some of which you may have seen before. The second presentation gives you a step by step guide of how to draw a portrait. You could have a go at drawing yourself or someone else from your family. Don't forget to email your drawings to [email protected] or tweet us @WombwellParkSt
Why not take a look at the challenges below linked to the book Tiddler. There is the link to an audio read online as well as tasks and challenges you could complete linked to the book. Enjoy!
Here are a few videos around developing children's understanding around the development of a healthy mindset.
'It can be easy to rush through life without stopping to notice much. Paying more attention to the present moment – to your own thoughts and feelings, and to the world around you – can improve your mental wellbeing.' - NHS Given the current circumstances, now is a great opportunity to slow down and notice the world around us. Mindfulness allows us to understand ourselves better and ca help us to get more out of life. Check out the documents below for ways that you can help you stop and appreciate the smaller things around you.
