Today, we investigated which material is the best for creating sound. We made our own drums using plastic bowls and different materials (tin foil, paper, greaseproof paper and clingfilm) and then in small groups we took these outside to test the level of noise they created. Each group had varying results however, we were all in agreement that there were some variables we had no control over, such as the noise from other classrooms and the wind.

This week we had a look at the written method for multiplication, when multiplying by a two digit number. We have found this a challenge and it something we will need to revisit next week and potentially after the Christmas holidays. Literacy During our lessons, we finished our draft diary entries (from the perspective of a miner) in relation to the Lundhill Colliery Disaster in 1857. We then focussed on editing our writing to ensure the punctuation was accurate and that we had correct any spelling errors. We have started to publish our diary entries and will be continuing with this on Monday. |
