Here are a few more computing activities that you could do at home. Why not get all the family involved?
Dear Parents/Carers,
We wanted to make you aware that the charity 'Active Fusion' have developed a virtual multi skills competition to help keep children active at home. This open for all primary schools across South Yorkshire to take part in. We have attached the PDF of resources all the information on the activities and how to submit your scores can be found in the PDF. There's a prize for the best boy/girl from each year group and an overall prize for the winning school. Kind regards, Miss Garratt and Mr Smith (PE Lead and Sports Coach) We wanted to make you aware of a new Guinness World Record title - 'Highest score achieved on 'Time Tables Rock Stars' in one minute'. We know you love playing on Times Tables Rock Stars and what better way to get practising your times tables by knowing YOU could become a Guinness World Record title holder. We think this is a fantastic incentive and would like to invite you all to take part. The letter attached explains to participate and gives you the deadline for the event. For further information, you can also visit https://ttrockstars.com/page/gwr Good luck each and every one of you who decide to enter. Mr Fidment and Miss Garratt (KS1 and KS2 Maths Leads)
Hi Team LG, Last week, your parents/carers should have received an email from myself and Mr Smith in relation to a PE festival taking place next week. The 'Joy of Moving Home School Festival' is aimed at Key Stage 2 children, and consists of fun activities based on the theme of active healthy lifestyles. We would like as many of you to take part in this event. I have posted the resource booklet below. It would be lovely to see some of the things you get up to so please feel free to email school or ask your parents to tweet us with some pictures of you getting involved. Enjoy and as always, take care! Miss Garratt
In light of the bank holiday (Friday 8th May 2020), we have decided as a school to take a break from the usual curriculum areas that you will have worked on this week. Instead, we have decided to set some activities linked to VE Day that you could do as a family. It IS NOT an expectation for you to do these but they are there should you choose to do something to celebrate this day. You will see some activities posted on Seesaw and may also find some extras on your class blog page. Happy VE Day Park Street. Take care and enjoy the bank holiday weekend. Love from the staff at Park Street Here are a list of sites with resources for VE day. Dear Parents/Carers,
We wanted to bring your attention to an online programme to support families in encouraging children to be active and remain on the move during these challenging times. The ‘Joy of Moving’ online hub The ‘Joy of Moving UK’ have created a website and resource hub designed for children and families to access from home to promote daily exercise. The website is: https://www.joyofmovingresourcehub.co.uk/ ‘Joy of Moving’ state that their programme is ‘designed to inspire active lifestyles in children, aiming to teach children how to enjoy moving through play, and to help them develop positive habits for adulthood. The games and activities are based on our unique Joy of Moving methodology, developed by independent parties, including Foro Italico (Rome University) and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI). This approach inspires children to move through play whilst developing key skills in four major areas: physical fitness, motor coordination, cognitive functions and creativity and life skills.’ The ‘Joy of Moving Home School Festival’ The ‘Joy of Moving UK’ are working in partnership with ‘Reds in the Community’ and are promoting an event, which will take place during the week 18th to 22nd May 2020. Aimed at Key Stage 2 children, the ‘Joy of Moving Home School Festival’ consists of a flexible timetable of fun activities based on the theme of active healthy lifestyles. We would like as many of our Key Stage 2 children to take part in this event. As we do not yet know when schools are likely to re-open, we recognise that our children may miss out on their yearly ‘Sports Day’ and therefore this is a great opportunity to encourage Park Street pupils to get active. The resources that will be used for the festival will be sent out digitally by class teachers via Seesaw and/or their class blogs on the school website. We will also ensure that any resources you need in order to take part are posted on the school’s PE page (https://www.wombwellparkstreet.co.uk/pe-blog). Should you not have access to Seesaw/the school website, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can arrange other methods of getting the resources to you. One final thing, there is a competition element to the festival where three families nationwide can win £500 worth of sports equipment for our school by participating in the event. It would be wonderful if we could say that one of the winning families was from Wombwell Park Street Primary! Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Garratt and Mr Smith (PE Lead and PE Coach) Here's a few more Science at home activities for you to have a go at if you get any spare time.
VE Day is worth celebrating. Don’t let the lockdown stop you and your families. Why not make it a special day with the ones who live closest?
With many children having been home schooled for over a month now, we are aware that Internet Safety may not be at the forefront of their minds. Therefore, Shooting Stars Entertainment have created an Internet Safety Video, specifically for Primary aged children, which they are giving to us, completely free! |
