Maths
In the last couple of weeks, we have focused on geometry. We have looked at: Regular and irregular shapes Triangles (equilateral, isosceles, scalene, right-angled) Quadrilaterals (square, rectangle, parallelogram, trapezium, rhombus, kite) We considered the properties of these shapes and then used these to classify and compare. Towards the end of each week, we looked at test style questions, using our knowledge to achieve full marks. Literacy We began looking at the features used in persuasive writing. We specifically focused on the features found in all persuasive writing (exaggeration, emotive language, rhetorical questions etc) and this week have tailored this specifically to the features found in a persuasive letter. Once we have analysed these further we will be writing our own persuasive letter to Mrs Lawson. We are hoping that we can convince her to allow staff members to take part in this year's 'I'm a Teacher Get Me Out of Here'.
