Maths
We began the week by revisiting the written method for dividing by a single digit number and then applied this to word problems. We discussed the language used in worded questions and what this means. The questions required us to use our knowledge of other areas of maths including conversion and money and apply this to division, Lastly, we began looking at the links between division and fractions of amounts. Literacy Following on from a reading comprehension paper about underage soldiers fighting in WW1, we have focused on a new skill this week - note making. We discussed how it is vital that we keep the relevant information and discard anything that is irrelevant when making notes. Miss Garratt then explained how we would use these notes to create a newspaper article. Today (Friday), we finished the article by writing in the missing feature: headline, 5W introduction and captions.
