Interfaith fortnight:
This week we have started to focus on our RE topic, Islam. Firstly, we looked at the founders of the faith and the main countries in which the faith is practised. We then discussed the prophets of the faith and the main beliefs of Islam. Following this we then took a look at the inside of a mosque and identified the key features including: Qiblah, Mihrab, Minbar, Wash Area, Minaret and Prayer Mats. We completed mosque diagrams, labelled the key features and gave a brief explanation about the significance of each feature. During our art lesson with Mrs Fitchett, we have started to design our own prayer mats and are going to continue with this next week.
