Maths
This week we have been busy creating 'factor bugs' to ensure we were identifying all factor pairs of given numbers. We found this challenging to begin with to make sure we identified all factors. However, after a bit of practice and working on a strategy to make sure we had all factors we realised we could do it! Yesterday, we had a special visitor in school who complimented on our focus and engagement in our Maths lesson. Well done Team LG! Literacy Throughout our lessons this week we have worked on identifying features of newspaper reports. We recognised that quite often sentences in newspapers contain additional information in brackets and we learnt that this is called parenthesis. We were given the task of identifying if brackets had been used correctly and then had to input brackets into sentences of our own. In addition to this, we have been conducting research about Lundhill mining disaster in preparation for writing our own news articles. Today (Friday), we were lucky to have a visit from Mrs Hitchens who grew up within a coal mining family. She told us all sorts of information and opened our eyes to a world that is completely different from our own.
