Maths

We began the week by finishing off our unit on addition and subtraction. We applied our knowledge to multi-step word problems and questions that required us to reason. Following this, we have begun with an introduction to multiplication and division by focusing on multiples. Because we are whizzes at our times tables, we were challenged into applying our knowledge to test style questions.

Literacy

Our SPAG focus this week has been subordinate clauses. We have broken sentences down into main clauses and subordinate clauses and identified our use of these within our own writing. Our stimulus for the week has been a video of Whitby Abbey. The film takes the viewer on a walk through the Abbey grounds and into a crypt. This stimulus has sparked a lot of excitement from the members of Team LG and some fantastic writing is currently being produced.
