Maths
During our maths lessons this week we have focused on solving addition and subtraction word problems in context. We discussed the language used in worded problems and how to decide on the operation that would be needed to solve the question. We created a list of the key words that may come up in questions and decided on whether these would relate to addition questions or subtraction questions. Literacy Following our introduction to Atmospheric Writing, this week we watched a video stimulus from the Literacy Shed known as 'Dracula's Whitby'. The virtual tour video took us on a journey through the abbey courtyard and the abbey itself. After watching the video and planning for writing, we have started to create first person accounts of the approach to the abbey. We have specifically focused on building tension through the use of sound and giving the reader hints as to what we might/might not have seen.
